Dream On

This labor day I threw out my back again scrubbing the green alge that has formed on my back patio from the wet, hot Florida weather. I am so miffed that I cannot go to the gym, as my friend is having an upcoming wedding, and I just need to look good.

So The last few days I took what was left over from a month ago when I injured my back...percocet. I took one last night after a hot soak in the tub and drifted off to sleep. A few blogs ago I talked about my weird dreams so heres another for you. This is the part where I think that I may be mentally unstable. :)

I dreamed I ws up in the north pole with Santa. His elves were grown men green superman underwear speedo looking things with hairy...legs and spiked high heels. ..oh and fairy wings. Yes they were flying. In the dream I looked around and said what the....and woke myself up remembering that maybe it wasn't just me, maybe it was the drugs:)

Someody help me!!

American Hero

Growing up my big brother was always my hero. We are 17 months apart and were each others best friends and best enemies growing up. I thnk I had maybe been zapped by an electric socket when I was little (which would account for alot of unsaid issues) and If I had chores to do which included vacuming I was terrifed of plugging it in the socket. I would grab my brother and have him plug it in for me, and he would always do it never questioning why. He was my hero. He squished bugs for me, and was my protector on our walked to and from school. I would go into his room at night afraid of the dark and the shadows on the walls, and in his room there were never any monsters as I lay on the floor next to his bed.

My grandfathers, my father and my brother have all served in the military. My grandfather in World war 2, and my father in vietnam. Mark(my brother) has been serving in the airforce for 15 years. Our families have been outraged at the lack of response to Americas largest disater. We have donated money, even written to the president of the United States. My brother who felt he had to do something was invited to go onto a volunteer trip to Louisiana, and has requested with the Airforce that he gets stationed there to help.

Mark may have not fought in Iraq, or any war for that matter, but I am more proud of him for what he is doing now. He is truly my hero.

MMMmmmmmm Coffee

After all the bad news in this world I almost flicked right past this tidbit of information on the TV. This should have made world headlines as far as I'm concerned....heck we have to give the public some good news every now and then right??

Coffee has now been classified as a major antioxident. Wooooohooooooo!!!!!! This is a beutiful thing. Most peoples bodies are made up of 78% water, my veins have espresso running through them, and now I find out it is good for me! So by drinking my massive quantities, without going into kidney failure, I am warding off cancer, and aging, and someone said it's good for the colon too...The colon is a disgusting thing, but I guess you got to take care of that too...whatever works.

Red wine has falvanoids in it which are also a great cancer fighting agent, so I have decided I must load up on this as well. Dark chocolate has this ingredient as well. Goodbye brussel sprouts, helloooooo Red wine:)

Humanity the animal civilization

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within."
Durant, Ariel Author (1898-1981)

We are one of the most wealthiest nations. We are the first to respond to those in need. We fight other peoples battles. When we have lost an entire city, then our president of the United States shows up a week later to asses the damage. Our citizens are hungry, dirty, and desperate. Where oh Mr. President are you? Where is the aide that is so desperatly needed.

I am beyond pissed. Our country and it's charities continue to raise millions of dollars over the past several days for relief, and the relief does not come. Here in florida we feel the pangs of these people, as it could have been us, all over the nation citizens are raising money for those in need.

Last night I was watching on TV a reporter who was beyond upset, and his wife came from pensecola and brought what she could to Louisiana. She didn't understand that if she could drive through to get there, why could not anyone else.

Let's get on the ball people. Someone with leadership please step up to the plate. I am ashamed of what our citizens are capable of doing on the other side of the gulf, however, I am more ashamed of the capacity that we have to help, and the lack of response.....and humanity.

It is not the people who have failed, but the government.
